It is very common for printers to generate static electricity. In some advertisers, this problem must be caused by grounding work, so that static electricity is not discharged in time. In fact, this view is wrong. If you pick up the earth, you can eliminate static electricity. In this case, there is no need to use a static eliminator. Then install the static eliminator, why is there still flying ink in the print? The following small series to solve for everyone, let's see it together!
Connecting the earth itself can not completely eliminate static electricity, even if the whole piece of metal directly touches the earth, it can not eliminate static electricity 100%. The structure of the printer is complicated. Although there are connections from the rack to the platform, it can only be regarded as conduction in electronics. It is not an ideal fully connected state. This is also the reason why power is lost during transmission.
So what is the static electricity generated? We have all learned physics, and friction is the reason everyone understands. The material will have a lot of friction during the transmission and stepping process. In this process, a large amount of static electricity is accumulated on the surface of the material.
Well, to understand the cause of static electricity, let us judge what state of flying ink caused by static electricity.
Static electricity caused by flying ink
The flying ink caused by static electricity, we can observe that the ink drops fly everywhere, there is no law. In this case, the ink droplets are disturbed by static electricity and fly everywhere. In some cases, there will be a phenomenon of ink droplets being formed into a sheet, that is, the ink droplets are adsorbed into a certain area of ??the material due to the unevenness of the surface of the material.
After eliminating static electricity
After eliminating the static printing, you can see that almost no ink points fly out.
Understand the generation of static electricity, and how to judge the flying ink caused by static electricity. We have to start thinking about ways to eliminate static electricity.
Let us first understand the principle of the static eliminator. The static eliminator does not directly eliminate static electricity, but neutralizes the ions on the surface of the material by neutralizing positive ions and negative ions. Selecting a static eliminator with too little or too much energy can not effectively eliminate static electricity, and may also react to generate more static electricity.
Therefore, we need to select the type before installing the static eliminator, which requires the use of an electrostatic tester.
Electrostatic tester
Through testing, we determine the level of static electricity produced, such as 5C, then we choose a static eliminator that produces ions around 5C (most static eliminators have adjustments, you can adjust the knob to determine the energy level).
The selection is only the first step, and it needs to be installed correctly. The installation height of the static eliminator is generally around 3-10CM. According to the results of our tests, it is ideal in 3-4CM. Of course, it is related to different brands of static eliminators and needs actual testing. Of course, static electricity can not be 100% eliminated. We need to control the electrostatic charge within a certain range. Generally, the impact on printing is very small within 1C.
